More than a few pieces of chocolate are essential to fill this Scrooge’s heart with Christmas cheer.
Candice Cane agreed to sign the divorce papers under one condition, for four days, Jackson Frost must play Santa Claus in her chocolate shop. However, her Christmas miracle would crumble if Jackson knew the truth.
Property developer, Jackson Frost, wanted to spend Christmas on a beach, instead, he’s home in snowy Redford Falls dressed in a Santa suit. The temptation of delectable chocolate and a second chance might lure him to stay.
My Review:
If your heart needs a pick-me-up, then you must pick up this sweet, tender novella. It’s everything a Christmas story should be: struggling (or is she?) heroine, a handsome grinch (or is he?), and a town that has seen better days and could use some cheering up.
This is a quick story about Jackson Frost returning to his hometown to take care of some vital business with his ex-sweetheart, Candice Cane. Specifically, it appears back in high school Jack had been so drunk that he actually married Candice before he fled cross country to make his fortune. His assistant found the paperwork. Now he has to undo it all.
Candice uses his well-timed arrival to wrangle him to play Santa Claus for her chocolate shop. Oh, did she mention it’s a four-day gig? Her store has been struggling since the ski resort closed. The appearance of Santa is not only a great community event, but it helps bring in revenue.
Darlene Fredette has written a story that takes the best parts of all the classic Christmas tales, wraps them in a beautiful bow, and gives the reader a heartfelt present. The story gives a Scrooge a second chance not only at love but at a life he passed on. Candice is the perfect heroine, capable, determined, and independent, but lacking in romance.
There’s no better time than the present to read One Sweet Christmas. It’s sure to make your heart sing and restore your faith in humanity.
