My Review:
Keri Armstrong looks forward to seeing her favorite client and friend, Fiona, but when she discovers Fiona is dead, Keri’s life changes forever. Keri’s business is personal concierge for clients. Fiona was more than a client…she was a friend and mentor. Keri discovers Fiona wasn’t as beloved as she thought. In fact, many are glad she’s dead. What’s going on? Keri decided to investigate Fiona’s death and bring the murderer to justice. It doesn’t matter than Fiona used people’s secrets to her benefit. Keri is on the hunt but so is the murderer, so she better watch out, or else she’ll be next.
Murder Pays a Call is a cozy mystery I couldn’t stop reading. From the first page until the last, this mystery captivated my imagination. There is a large list of suspects to weed through. The descriptive narration is immersive. The mystery plot is complex with plenty of clues, false clues, investigation, and a satisfying ending. The characters are colorful, relatable, and entertaining.
What makes Murder Pays a Call such a fantastic cozy mystery is the writing. Nancy J. Cohen is a prolific cozy mystery writer with her previous series. She takes her skills and has created a new unputdownable cozy mystery series. The writing is flawless and easy to read. The lush narration pulls the reader into the story. The characterization of the main character, Keri, shows growth and is colorful. Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. I can’t wait to read more in this new series.
